Ôi! Thánh Gioan vinh hiển là mẫu mực về đức ái nhân nồng nhiệt. Xin cho chúng con cũng được tinh thần bác ái tuyệt đối hầu che lấp các tội chúng con. Lạy Cha Thánh Gioan Thiên Chúa xin cầu cho chúng con, đáng chịu lấy những sự Chúa Kitô đã hứa. Lạy Chúa là Đấng đã nung đốt lòng Bác ái Cha Thánh Gioan chúng con, Chúa đã che chở Ngài đi giữa lửa cháy vô sự, và nhờ Người Hội Thánh Chúa được thêm một gia đình mới. Xin vì công nghiệp người, Chúa hãy làm cho Lửa mến trong lòng chúng con xoá sạch mọi nết xấu và được hằng sống nhờ Chúa Kitô Chúa chúng con. Amen.

Short prayer to St. John of God
Saint John of God, through all the struggles of your life, you never gave up your desire to serve God and others. Please pray for me, especially when I lose hope, that I may imitate your example and offer myself to God for His glory and the service of all. Saint John of God, pray for me. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.
Prayer to St. John of God
Saint John of God, I honor thee as the Patron of the Sick, especially of those who are afflicted by heart disease. I choose thee to be my patron and protector in my present illness. To thee I entrust my soul, my body, all my spiritual and temporal interests, as well as those of the sick throughout the world. To thee I consecrate my mind, that in all things it may be enlightened by faith above all in accepting my cross as a blessing from God; my heart, that thou doth keep it pure and fill it with the love for Jesus and Mary that burned in thy heart; my will, that like thine, it may always be one with the Will of God.
Good Saint John, I honor thee as the model of penitents, for thou didst receive the grace to give up a sinful life and to atone for thy sins by untiring labors in behalf of the poor and sick. Obtain for me the grace from God to be truly sorry for my sins, to make atonement for them and never again offend God. Aid me in mastering my evil inclinations and temptations, and in avoiding all occasions of sin. Through thine intercession may I obtain the grace from Jesus and Mary to fulfill faithfully all the duties of my state of life and to practice those virtues which are needful for my salvation. Help me to belong to God and Our Lady in life and in death through perfect love. May my life, like thine, be spent in the untiring service of God and my neighbor.
Since Holy Mother Church also invokes thee in her prayers for the dying, I beg thee to be with me in my last hour and pray for me. As thou didst die kneeling before a crucifix, may I find strength, consolation and salvation in the Cross of my Redeemer, and through His tender mercy and the prayers of Our Lady, and through thine intercession, attain to eternal life. Amen.
Prayer to St. John of God
Good Saint John,
lover of those who suffer
and special Patron of the Sick,
how patiently you bore the sufferings of your own disease!
Teach me to carry with cheerful resignation
the cross that God has given me.
Let me never complain or lose courage.
Help me to understand that suffering
is a very important means of sanctifying my soul,
of atoning for my many sins,
and of reaping a plentiful harvest of merit for Heaven.
I trust in your great love for the sick
and in the power of your intercession to help them.
Help me, good St. John,
and beg the God whose name you bear to touch me
as He touched the sick while on earth,
that through His almighty power
health may return to my body.
And as you derived strength
in your own sufferings from the crucifix,
so may I be able to say what you did to Jesus Crucified:
“Lord, Thy thorns are my roses and Thy sufferings my paradise.”

Prayer to St. John of God for heart patients
Dearest St. John of God, I come before you on behalf of those suffering from diseases of the heart, especially (name person).
I ask that you fervently pray that if it is God’s will that their hearts be healed of every ailment and that they enjoy fullness of health.
If it is not, please pray that they have the grace and strength to bear their sickness with patience and dignity and ask God to bless them with caretakers who are wise and who can alleviate their suffering. Thank you St. John for your love and intercession.
