Chúng con lạy ơn ông thánh Grêgoriô xưa đã chê bỏ thế gian cùng các sự thuộc về nó, cho nên người đã được trận cả, cùng tích nhiều của thiêng liêng lời nói việc làm ở trên trời. Chúng con xin ông thánh Grê-go-ri-ô cầu cho chúng con, đáng chịu lấy những sự Chúa Kitô đã hứa. Chúng con xin Đức Chúa Trời ban lửa kính mến cho chúng con, cho đáng chịu ơn Người bầu cử cho chúng con trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời. Vì Đức Chúa Giêsu Kitô là Chúa chúng con. Amen.

Prayer of St. Gregory the Great (Saint Pope Gregory the Great)
Acclaim To The Suffering Christ
O Lord, You received affronts
without number from Your blasphemers,
yet each day You free captive souls
from the grip of the ancient enemy.
You did not avert Your face
from the spittle of perfidy,
yet You wash souls in saving waters.
You accepted Your scourging without murmur,
yet through your meditation
You deliver us from endless chastisements.
You endured ill-treatment of all kinds,
yet You want to give us a share
in the choirs of angels in glory everlasting.
You did not refuse to be crowned with thorns,
yet You save us from the wounds of sin.
In your thirst You accepted the bitterness of gall,
yet You prepare Yourself to fill us with eternal delights.
You kept silence under the derisive homage
rendered You by Your executioners,
yet You petition the Father for us
although You are his equal in Divinity.
You came to taste death,
yet You were the Life
and had come to bring it to the dead.

Prayer to Saint Gregory the Great (Pope Gregory I)
Father, you guide your people
with kindness and govern
us with love.
By the prayers of Saint Gregory
give the spirit of wisdom
to those you have called to lead
your Church.
May growth of your people
in holiness be the eternal joy of
your shepherds.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Your Son, who lives and reigns
with you in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever.

Prayer to St. Gregory the Great
St. Gregory, you are known for your zeal
for the Catholic faith, love of liturgy,
and compassion and mercy toward those in need.
Please help and guide us
so that we may share in these virtues
and thereby bring Jesus into the hearts
of our families and all we encounter.
We especially ask for blessings on our parish family,
our priests and our deacons.
I also ask that you graciously intercede for me before God
so that I might be granted the special assistance
and graces that I seek.
Help me to live as a faithful child of God
and to attain the eternal happiness of heaven.

Saint Gregory the Great’s Easter Prayer
It is only right
with all the powers of our heart and mind,
to praise You Father
and your Only-begotten Son,
Our Lord Jesus Christ:
Dear Father, by Your wondrous
condescension of loving-kindness toward us,
Your servants, You gave up Your Son.
Dear Jesus, You paid the debt of Adam
for us to the Eternal Father by
Your blood poured
forth in loving-kindness.
You cleared away the darkness of sin
By Your magnificent and radiant Resurrection.
You broke the bonds of death
and rose from the grave as a Conqueror.
You reconciled heaven and earth.
Our life had no hope of eternal happiness
before You redeemed us.
Your Resurrection has washed away our sins,
restored our innocence and brought us joy.
How inestimbale is the tenderness of Your love! Amen.
